To complement and continue your rehabilitation with us here at the Vanbrugh, we
are now pleased to offer Modified Pilates Classes. Modified Pilates is suitable
for people who have suffered from pain or injury.
The Pilates method is a conditioning exercise program which targets the deep postural
muscles of the abdomen and spine. Current medical research has demonstrated that
is essential to retrain these muscles to prevent recurrence of injury.
Our classes cater presently for those clients with a history of back pain. It
is called Modified Pilates because the classes are run by a Chartered Physiotherapist
which experience in the management of low back pain. Some of the original Pilates
exercises are unsuitable for back pain sufferers, and as such have been modified
so that they provide the correct benefit for clients.
